We expect all of our SUA6 students to be leaders in the academy and the wider community. Leadership is about being a role mode for others and embracing new challenges. In order to demonstrate LEADERSHIP, we expect our students to engage with the following and evidence them in their LEADERSHIP portfolio.

LLead an enterprise project (Within the academy or outside, for charity or gain!)

EExtend your learning (complete an online course, form time competitions and other subject linked competitions)

AAdvocate learning (promote learning, mentors, TA, open evening, professional bodies)

DDevelop CHARACTER (yours and others, support deliver in lower school, build your resilience)

E - Engage with the futures programme (visit universities, gain work experience, take part in mock interviews)

RReading leaders (read for pleasure, lead guided reading for younger years, be a reading buddy)

SSupport charity (fundraising, volunteering, raising awareness)

HHealthy lifestyles (help others to; improve diet, complete regular exercise, take part in mindfulness activities)

IImplement positive change (do something which makes the academy/community/world a better place)

PPresent formally (to SLT, in assemblies, to your peers, as part of your course)

Not only do we believe these activities will help support students in their studies, we also know it will support applications into universities and work placements.
