At Staffordshire University Academy we understand the importance of a robust rewards system to motivate and celebrate outstanding pupil work. Students at SUA get the opportunity to earn ClassCharts points in lessons. Points can be earned for hard work or effort on a task, producing outstanding class or homework, or showing other star qualities such as leadership within the lesson.
Students can spend their hard-earned points in our ClassCharts shop which contains a variety of exciting items for students to purchase. We regularly conduct student voice to ensure that the shop has new and relevant items for students in all year groups, no matter their interests.
As students achieve more points, they get closer to reaching our reward milestones. When students achieve their next milestone they receive a badge to wear on their blazer and a certificate given in assemblies.
For every week that a student achieves 100% attendance, they receive a virtual raffle ticket. All tickets get entered into a prize draw at the end of each half term for a chance to win prizes such as tablet computers, shopping vouchers and many other prizes
Each week every teacher at the academy chooses a student from each of their classes to receive a praise postcard in the post, to congratulate them on their successes during the week.
In addition to this, the academy in conjunction with the student council, runs a number of trips to reward students with exceptional levels of attendance and behaviour. In the past trips to Alton Towers, Drayton Manor and Chester Zoo have all been chosen and attended by our students.
